We want to Help Creators
You gotta admit the old muscle cars look pretty sweet from the back!
Lean Machine recently launched a Canadian version of SendCutSend with our Lean QuickTurn service. Our idea behind this is to give Canadians a place to go for their small projects and prototypes without having to be “in the know” in the metal manufacturing community. We need to get Canada manufacturing much stronger than it currently is and Lean Machine wants to help. It’s not that well known that Canada is one of the worst G8 countries for efficiency, check out this article. Below is an example of a project that takes place millions of times a year and if we can help speed them up it will contribute to the overall Canadian economy (and maybe make a few people’s cars faster!).
I wanted to put coil over shocks from QA1 into my 1970 Cutlass. This car has seen the dragstrip at one of Canada’s best known tracks Saskatchewan International Raceway which was the reason why I decided to upgrade it with a Moser built Ford 9inch rear end. Now before you get all upity about a Ford part in a GM car, I assure you, there are no Ford parts left in this rear end! Here is where the problem begins, I need to adapt the QA1 parts into the GM chassis, the Ford rear end design, and the QA1 coil overs.
Here is the first version of the brackets tacked in place on the car just to get some ideas of the angles.
A CAD view of the V2 brackets we needed to cut.
After Lean Machine produced the brackets, all that was left was a little welding.
The finished installation! A little black paint on the brackets and they look like they were made by the factory.
